We've launched our new website
We've got some great news here at Hello Music Theory... We've launched the new website! We've been working hard at getting it all ready the last month and we're very happy to release it into the world.
You might be thinking it doesn't look that much different from our last one and on the surface, it's very similar. But, behind the scenes, our website is completely different and I'll quickly talk through the main points (and why it's better)!
Our previous site was on a platform called Wordpress and we used another company called Gumroad as a shopping cart and makeshift shop. Both of these were great but we were running into some problems so after a lot of deliberation we've moved over to another platform called Shopify.
Shopify hosts over 600,000 online stores, more than any other e-commerce platform. It has processed over $55 billion dollars of transactions since being founded in 2004 so they know what they're doing when it comes online shopping.
They also take security very seriously. Their shopping cart is hosted on a Level 1 PCI DSS compliant server. Which, in layman's terms, means that all our customer's data is secure, plus we have a 128-bit SSL certificate.
Individual Product Pages
As well as a whole new platform, we now have individual product pages for all our resources. This allows you to have a look at exactly what you get when you download any of our products.
We'll be adding product videos soon so you can see for yourself all the benefits of our music theory resource packs. We'll send out an update when these start to make their way on to the site.
The biggest selling point for us changing platform was the shopping cart. Now we have an easy to use, fast and familiar shopping cart, you can see exactly what you're buying with a breakdown of costs. It's a lot simpler and so far we're really happy with it.
We still can take all major credit and debit cards, as well as PayPal like before, but now we can also accept Google pay, Apple pay and soon Amazon pay. Happy days.
We've also reverted back to selling in £GBP. Due to Gumroad processing payments in $USD, it would charge customers quite a bit more than advertised which was very frustrating.
That doesn't mean that you have to be based in the UK though as it will convert to your currency at whatever the latest conversion price is.
Now that we've switched over, we'll iron out the last creases in the new site and will get back to producing more resources. Shopify has taken a lot of the headaches out of running a website as we spent most of our time previously fixing things on the site that had broken.
Sign up for our music theory club to keep up to date with all the new things we're working on, as well as exclusive offers and discounts.
Thanks for all your support.
